Dubai : Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in 2nd Test match by 9 wickets on the fifth and final day at Dubai International Cricket Stadium today. Sri Lanka leads in Test series 1-0.
Sri Lanka needed 137 runs to win the second test after dismissing Pakistan for 359 before lunch on the fifth and final day of the second test.
Resuming at the overnight 330-7, with a 107-run lead, Sarfraz Ahmed was bowled by Suranga Lakmal for 74 in the fourth over of the day off a delivery that swung in and went between the bat and pad.
Ahmed added just four to his overnight score and batted for 3-1/2 hours, hitting seven fours in his 142-ball maiden test fifty.
Wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene equaled a Sri Lanka record of nine catches in a test match when gathered a Rahat Ali edge.
Lakmal wrapped up the innings by clean bowling Junaid Khan to return career-best figures of 4-78.
