Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on Friday in Pakistan

Lahore: Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated on Friday 9th August 2013 in Pakistan with religious eagerness. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, USA, Japan, Indonesia, Canada and other countries on Thursday 8th August 2013.

The day began with Eid congregations which are held in all over the country.
Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of our country, unity of the Islamic Ummah, and elimination of terrorism.
Thousands of People offered Eid ul Fitr prayer in Lahore’ Bagh-e-Jinnah.
Following the Eid prayers, Muslims spend their time feasting with family and friends and feeding those who are less fortunate. Sweets and other special dishes are prepared on first day of Eid. People also exchange gifts on this event.
This is the occasion of gaiety and pleasure and Muslims all over the world celebrate the festival in their own style.
Eid ul Fitr is very different from other festivals celebrated by followers of other religions. Eid ul Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawal, to mark the end of a month long fast during the month of Ramadan.
Eid ul Fitr is celebrated with enthusiasm and passion and Muslims from all walks of life can be seen adorned in beautiful new clothes, visiting the mosques to attend Eid prayers.
Greetings of “Eid-Mubarak” or “Happy Eid” are exchanged with each other
