ABU DHABI: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test will be Start tomorrow at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. GMT.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka start their three-match Test series in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday 31st December 2013.The first test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will start on 31st December 2013. Misbah ul Haq Said that Sri Lanka is a tough opponent and a highly competitive team to play with, Pakistan will not take them lighter.

ODI series between the two had witnessed thrilling contests, while Sri Lanka have won only two matches, but they are now boosted by the return of their primary Test match-winner in Rangana Herath, and their best batsman against spin in Mahela Jayawardene. Pakistan must a much more confident side after having victory in the limited over matches. Pakistan with addition of Younis Khan will be more solid, however he struggled against South Africa’s attack, but will likely find Sri Lanka’s bowlers a friendlier challenge.

Both the teams have done practice session followed by the presentation ceremony of trophy. Misbah ul Haq said that openers are in good form and playing XI selection will be a hard task.

 Sri Lankan captain Angelo Matthews said that Jayawerdene’s inclusion will boost the morale of the team. He denied terming Pakistan as favorite by saying that one who plays well will get success.

The pitch of Abu Dhabi is a green tinge on the eve of the match, suggesting seam bowlers may prosper on the first morning.

Sri Lanka have not played Tests since March this year and have won just one out of their last five matches. Pakistan have won two and lost three and, although their form can often be unpredictable, there are enough positives for them to head into the series with confidence.
