Institute of Public Health is recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. Further, the Institute is being maintained by the Government of Punjab and is under the administrative control of the Health Department.

IPH in M.Phil Community Medicine, MPH, MMCH, MHM session 2017:

For admission at IPH in M.Phil Community Medicine, MPH, MMCH, MHM session 2017, the entry test for admission was conducted by UHS on December 14, 2016 & last date for submission of entry test forms was 29-11-2016 at UHS, the Admissiom forms are available at UHS website(www.uhs.edu.pk).

The following postgraduate courses are offered by the Institute of Public Health:

Masters in Public Health (MPH)
Masters in Maternal & Child Health (MMCH)
Masters in Hospital Management (MHM)
Admission Criteria
The admission criteria for the Post Graduate courses are as under:
Candidate must posses MBBS/BDS degree from the recognized university (BDS professionals are eligible for admission in Master in Public Health and Master in Hospital Management programs only)
For private candidates the work experience will be counted from the year of graduation
For M.Phil. the candidates must have at least two years of teaching experience in Community Medicine or of its various sub-specialties in a recognized institution
The candidates who have not availed deputation within last three years before submission of application will be eligible for admission
In-service admission of Institute of Public Health employee will be on sole discretion of the Dean
Applicants from the Health Departments of federal/provincial government, armed forces, railways, city district government and other autonomous organizations should apply directly to the Dean of Institute of Public Health Lahore, on the prescribed form with a copy through proper channel
The candidates who are government employees or serving in autonomous organizations will be allowed to join the course only when permitted in writing by their parent department/organization/institution
The candidate who fails to join within 15 days of the start of course/session will be cancelled and next candidate(s) on merit list will be recommended for that vacant seat. No admission will be made after 30 days of commencement of the course
In the matter of selection of the candidates for the admission in postgraduate programs the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final
The admission will be strictly on the merit basis. The merit will be based on marks obtained in all MBBS/BDS professional exams, number of attempts in all MBBS/BDS professional exams, work experience and entry test (mandatory). The detail is as under:

3rd Attempt 00
Percentage of total marks obtained in all Professional Examinations 12
Experience* 15
Entry Test 25
Total Marks 60
*1 Marks per year of service (maximum 15 years)
