So far LUMS has had 798 NOP students, 362 of whom have graduated and are out in the world achieving their dreams and helping their families and communities.
The NOP team visits schools/ colleges in various cities, towns and villages in all provinces to give presentations about the LUMS National Outreach Programme.
Students send their applications for the NOP Summer Coaching Session to LUMS and the shortlisted students are invited; to LUMS in the summer to experience university life.
Students hopeful of being NOP scholars apply for admission to LUMS along with all other regular students.
Students take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Students who get in, are given a fully funded scholarship to study in the undergraduate programme based on their financial need assessment.
A student from anywhere in Pakistan can apply if he or she meets the criteria of marks and financial need. There are no separate seats for students based on region, ethnicity and/or extra-curricular activities.
Eligibility Criteria
• At least 80% marks in Matric or equivalent in O-Levels
• Financial need
The students short listed on the above criteria are invited to coaching sessions, whereby they are examined through different exercises and tests. Students are evaluated on their performance at the coaching sessions and are registered for the entrance test; fully funded by LUMS. Finally, the students who apply to LUMS and qualify on merit are offered admission on full scholarship.
All students whether they apply directly or through the scholarship programme are evaluated on the same admission criteria. As regards to the assessment of financial need, a review committee ensures transparency in the process of awarding scholarships to all those who qualify for admission at LUMS.
