Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University was established with the aim of providing the quality of education to the students especially to the female candidates living in far off and less privileged areas of the country. AIOU has performed its role quite satisfactorily and now they are going to start admissions in the MPhil, MS and PhD classes for the academic year 2014. The candidates are invited to send their admission forms for grant of admission in these disciplines till 31 January 2014.

The late candidates can also send the application forms for grant of admission with the late fee of Rs.500 till February 10, 2014. The candidates can get the information about the programs in which admissions are being granted to the eligible candidates:

MPhil/MS Programs

Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies:

MPhil in Arabic

MPhil in Islamic Studies (General)

MPhil in Islamic Studies (with specialization in Quran and Tafseer)

Faculty of Science:

MPhil Chemistry

MS in Community Health and Nutrition

PGD in Nutrition/Dietetics is necessary. GAT not required at this stage.

Faculty of social Sciences & Humanities:

MPhil in Mass Communication

MPhil in Iqbal Studies

PhD Programs (MS/MPhil based)

Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies

PhD in Islamic Studies

PhD in Islamic Studies (with specialization in Quran and Tafseer)

Faculty of Sciences:

PhD in Chemistry

Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities

PhD in Urdu

PhD in Iqbal Studies

PhD in Pakistani languages and Literature

The candidates, who want to get admission in the MS or the MPhil programs, they must have passed the Master level exams with 2nd division in the respective subject along with the GAT test from NTS (General) with at least 50% marks.

The candidates, who want to get admission in the PhD programs, they must have passed the MPhil or the MS programs with 1st division in the respective subjects with the 3 CGPA and is also qualified in GAT test by the NTS with at least 50% marks.
