ECP announces LB polls schedule in Punjab on 30th January 2014
ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued Local Bodies election schedule in Punjab.
As per schedule, the candidates could receive nomination papers from 20th to 27th January 2014. The process of scrutiny of the candidates would take place from December 30 to January 4.
The final list of the candidates would be issued on January 13, according the ECP schedule.
LB polls in Sindh
The commission has categorically stated that LB polls in Sindh would be held on January 18. The schedule of Sindh LB elections would be announced on December 13, it said.
The commission further stated that if the Sindh government wanted delay in elections, it should go to the Supreme Court.
Earlier, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon had said that the provincial cabinet has decided to hold LB polls in March. He said that the government would officially dispatch a letter to the ECP on Tuesday in this regard.
