Curfew in Rawalpindi extended for 24 hours
RAWALPINDI: The City District Government extended the curfew enforced in city for another 24 hours as it is feared that violence could erupt again after the burial of persons killed during Friday clash at Raja Bazaar.
On Friday, a clash erupted between two groups at Raja Bazaar that left at least nine persons killed and 50 others injured.
A curfew was imposed on Friday night at 12.00 am for 24 hours in the jurisdiction of 19 police stations of Rawal Town, Potohar Town and Cantonment areas of the city due to tense situation.
The mobile phone services will remain suspended in the town for an indefinite period.
