Judicial Commission to probe the Rawalpindi IncidentJudicial Inquiry Ordered Into Rawalpindi Tragedy

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) formed a Judicial Commission to probe the Rawalpindi Incident on Sunday.
Umar Atta Bandyal, Chief Justice LHC, passed the orders to form the Commission.
Punjab Government had filed a petition in the court to investigate the incident which claimed more 10 lives.
Justice Mamoon-ur-Rasheed will start the investigations on 18th November.

 According to sources privy to the developments, Mian Shahbaz Sharif took serious note of the sectarian riots and requested Chief Just Lahore High Court to appoint a service judge as inquiry officer for the purpose.

Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif who is in Sri Lanka for Commonwealth summit also spoke to Chief Minister telephonically to get latest update of the situation.  Premier also directed the CM to take all possible measures to bring culprits to justice.

“The miscreants responsible for this incident should not be spared. They must be defeated in their nefarious designs of creating discord in the society,” Prime Minister reportedly said.

Chief Minister briefed premier on the steps taken by the provincial government to defuse tension and to bring normalcy back in life. Shahbaz told premier that he is monitoring the situation in real time and is constantly in contact with Pakistan Army, intelligence agencies and interior ministry.
