CHE BS HOME ECONOMICS ADMISSION 2015-16
The College of Home Economics awards both bachelors and masters degrees through Punjab University. Honors and Masters Courses are available in Food and Nutrition, Housing, Home Management and Interior Design, Human Development and Family Studies, Art and Design, and Textiles & Clothing. As of 2007 estimates, the college serves approximately 1600 students with a faculty of 80 teachers.
The CHE (Government College of Home Economics) is an all-girls college, established in 1955 in Gulberg, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Currently considered an affiliated college of the University of the Punjab, the College of Home Economics is most noted.
HOME ECONOMICS (6 YEAR DEGREE PROGRAME)Home Economics is a professional field and the courses have been developed keeping in mind the requirements of various professions that are open to graduates in this discipline. B.S Home Economics is a 6 year integrated course comprising of subjects from core Home Economics disciplines and supporting subjects. Students shall be enrolled after matriculation and the first two years of B.S Part I will comprise of various Science and Aits subjects along with Introductory Home Economics subjects. Compulsory papers including English, Urdu, Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies at intermediate level make the two – year courses at par with other Intermediate level courses.
Students will be required to select one major area in 3rd year of BS Part II and will be offered two papers in their area of choice. BS (final year) students will be offered one of the major disciplines of Home Economics for specialization. They will also write a project report in their area of specialization Research and computer application will be emphasized throughout the six years. Students will take the university examination at the end of each year. No student will be allowed to sit in the final examination without first clearing the internal examinations. Pass marks will be 40% at the BS level. BS degree will be compulsory for admission to Master Programe.
Keeping in view the requirements of Higher Education Commission the courses of Home Economics have been re – designed to meet the international standards of sixteen years of education for a Bachelor’s degree. The six year B.S Home Economics program has two parts:
